Car magazine in 1994 after the results of track tests
performed on the replicas available. The test was re-run
the following year with no change to the magazine's
opinion. In 1996 full honours went to Nick Taylor piloting
the same ex.GD427 demonstrator to a commanding victory
in Class 'A' with no less than 8 out of 10 pole positions.

style proving without doubt, if performance and handling

clothing, the GD427 sets the pace.Bringing the car up
to date, this car is the first of its kind to be submitted
to a full S.V.A. test and pass, assuring peace of mind
for GD customers.
Aside
from the car's proven track record, the GD427 offers
some distinctive features that make its road manners
even more impressive. Based on GD's race proven multi-tubular
backbone chassis offering greater stiffness for lighter
weight, the chassis is available for use with either
the popular Jaguar XJ axles or for those seeking new
registrations, GD's own lightweight Euro design may
be more appropriate. The chassis accepts a range of
V8 engines from the Rover 3.5 to 4.6 ltr. and American
Ford and Chevrolet small blocks. The chassis remains
taut and predictable even when urged along with 500+bhp.
The
GD bodyshell is a one-piece semi-monocoque in composite
materials available in high quality self-colour gel
finishers that can be painted over if required. The
body features anti-intrusion beams within the doors
and foam filled cavities in the sills and scuttle sides
for added protection.The body locates around the chassis
via 14 unique rubber isolation mountings; these insulate
the bodyshell and occupants from high frequency vibrations
transmitted through the chassis from the road. The effect
is the GD body is never stressed and the ride
is always comfortable. An added bonus is the
complete body with all its fittings intact can be removed
from the chassis within an hour, a major plus when carrying
out repairs or full overhauls.The GD427 is available
in either DIY kit form or in various stages of assembled
packages up to "turnkey" cars built to your preferred
specification.
