Visiting the factory

Gardner Douglas is conveniently located in the Midlands and since 1996 it has operated out of well equipped commercial premises situated in the pretty countryside surrounding the village of Bottesford, near Nottingham.

We actively encourage factory visits, where prospective customers can expect a warm and friendly welcome. Here you can see first hand how our highly skilled staff fabricates all chassis, suspension components and fibreglass bodywork in-house.

On any typical day you'll also be able to view a number of cars being worked on and serviced. From a rolling GDT70 chassis to completed GD427, there's always something of interest to take in. Finally, you'll then be able to experience a test drive in one of these amazing cars at the hands of one of Gardner Douglas' test drivers. An experience not to be missed!

While you are more than welcome to pop in and see us unannounced, we would much rather that you pre-arranged a visit. In this way we can guarantee our test cars will be available and that the relevant staff can be on-hand to answer any of your questions (we often attend shows and other events where the cars need to be removed from the workshop midweek).

We look forward to meeting you, showing you around and demonstrating the unique quality of our products.

Buying a Gardner Douglas product

Regardless of which model you choose, Gardner Douglas Sports Cars prides itself in offering an unparalleled level of service, right up to completion of your car and beyond...

Build options - There are many ways of achieving your dream, from buying each component individually to ordering as factory assembled turnkey car. In between these two extremes many customers opt for our extra services, such as pre-hanging of doors, bonnet and boot lid or perhaps assembling a rolling chassis prior to collection or sourcing performance engines and other specialist components. We're more than happy to discuss your requirements at any stage of your build and suggest solutions to suit your budget.

Finance - A £200 deposit guarantees a build slot and gets production underway while final payment is required two weeks prior to dispatch or collection. In this way we take on responsibility for sourcing and paying for components and only require you to reimburse us once everything is ready. We can arrange finance for you but we would generally recommend that customers do their own extensive research to guarantee a package that best suits them.

Build assistance - Each kit is supplied with a build manual (T70 to follow) and, for the GD427, we also have a 2-hour build video to further explain the assembly process. At the factory we have a dedicated technical support line which is open 6-days a week. With the onset of e-mail and digital photography we can also send additional information and jpeg images of any areas of the build for which the builder is seeking additional assistance. Finally, we often put builders in touch with existing customers in their area who are prepared to offer help and advice.

Parts supply - We carry a large quantity of stock, especially those items which are usually ordered in mid-build, such as trim kits, hoods and brightwork.
