Established by Andrew Burrows, the company's proprietor and design engineer, Gardner Douglas Sports Cars began trading in January 1990 with the definitive aim of producing distinctive, hand-built, quality sports cars for the individual who demands perfection and a high standard of engineering. Soon after its launch, the GD427 earned glowing reports from customers and press alike. "Simply the Best" rang out the headlines in Kit Car Magazine 1993, and in 1994 & 1995 Kit Car Magazine pronounced the GD427 as "Best Car for Performance and Handling". 1998 brought a first for the industry ... the GD427 was the first car of its kind to be submitted and awarded Single Vehicle Approval (SVA). A founder member of both S.T.A.T.U.S. and A.S.C.M., Gardner Douglas continue to lead the way.

Our works, based in the beautiful Vale of Belvoir in Leicestershire, is easily accessible being situated only thirty minutes from the M1 and only a few minutes from the A1. Within our comprehensive manufacturing facility, our product range is supported by a wealth of skills from our in-house design team, complete engineering and welding facilities and our mould and pattern shop. Well planned assembly areas and service bays offer ample space for construction and servicing, and our stock holding area provides a never-ending supply of component parts supplied by companies who have over time proved quality in both their products and service.
